Beater add Gasket materials
The biggest name in beater addition materials used to be Armstrong. We can cross-reference the Armstrong style on your print to provide a long-lasting quality gasket. AS&P provides Gaskets to fit the specific applications based on temperature, pressure, and durability against the contents gasket will be exposed to.
Automotive Gaskets are often made in the Beater Add process.
Armstrong Gaskets – Was the biggest name in beater add materials. Now called interface solutions, the process of making a beater add material is different than a compressed non-asbestos. Beater add materials are made from pulp and formed in what is similar to a paper machine. The pulp used to form the gasket material may include various materials including fiber, rubber, cork, aramid fiber, thermo-tork, NBR, sponge rubber among compounds which will vary as per industry requirements. We offer a variety of Armstrong Interface solutions or equivalent manufacturer to fit the specific needs required in regard to temperature, pressure, and durability against the contents gaskets are exposed to.

STYLE 0783 PLANT FIBER BUNA-N BEATER SATURATED (ARMSTRONG CN-705)
Composed of cellulose fiber, cork, and Buna-N. Typically used in applications involving oil, gasoline, and water services. This material is powered by the combination of high compressibility and high crush strength. Tensile strength minimum: 1000 PSI. Temperatures to 300°F.
STYLE 0792 CORK AND NEOPRENE MEDIUM HARDNESS (ARMSTRONG DC-I 00)
This neoprene rubber sheet contains very fine cork particles that creates a homogeneous material paired with the combination of excellent compressibility and the resiliency of neoprene. This material has high cork content and minimum side flow, making it applicable in general gasket and sealing purposes. This material is the solution for very narrow flange gaskets and for low-bolt load applications. Style 0792 is very useful for oil, non-aromatic petroleum derivatives, fatty oils, and solvents (except chlorinated, aromatic, or ketone types). Shore A Hardness 55-70. Temperatures to 275°F.
STYLE 0792A CORK AND NEOPRENE SOFT (ARMSTRONG DC-I 79)
Same type material as Style 0792. The only difference is it is slightly softer, providing greater compressibility. Shore A Hardness 50-65.
STYLE 0793 CORK AND BUNA-N MEDIUM HARDNESS (ARMSTRONG NC-71 0)
This Buna-N sheet contains fine particles of cork. The added particles of cork creates a homogeneous material with excellent compressibility and optimal resiliency of Buna-N. This material is the solution for narrow flange gaskets and low-bolt load applications. This material is applicable for oil and non-aromatic petroleum derivatives. Shore A Hardness 55 to 70. Temperatures to 275°F.
STYLE 0793A CORK AND BUNA-N SOFT (ARMSTRONG NC-757)
Same type of material as Style 0793. The only difference is it’s slightly softer, providing greater compressibility. Shore A Hardness 50-65.
STYLE 0793B CORK AND BUNA-N FIRM (ARMSTRONG NC-711)
Same type of material as Style 0793. The only difference is its firmness. Shore A Hardness 70-85.
STYLE 0794 CORK AND SYNTHETIC SPONGE RUBBER ADHESIVE BACKED (ARMSTRONG DK-1 53T)
This material is a unique blend of cork and sponge rubber that permits the combination of lasting resilience with high surface friction. It is commonly used to eliminate squeaks, cushion fragile parts, make slippery surfaces non-skid, or to absorb shock or relative motion between adjoining parts of an assembly. This material is known for the strength of its pressure-sensitive adhesive, which is protected with a polyethylene fiber.
STYLE 0794FC CORK AND SYNTHETIC SPONGE RUBBER TAPE, ADHESIVE BACKED (ARMSTRONG DK-1 53T)
This material is the same as Style 0794. The lone difference is that it is in tape form, which is slit to your required widths.
STYLE 0N8051 IMPERVAPAC NITRILE BINDER (ARMSTRONG N-8051)
Recommended for applications involving low internal pressure and low flange pressure applications (Max. 2000 PSI). Moderate oil resistance. Nitrile Butadiene
STYLE 0N8090 SYNTHESEAL LATENT CURE NITRITE BINDER (ARMSTRONG N-8090)
Armstrong Syntheseal non-asbestos gasket materials have been formulated & designed to directly replace asbestos-containing materials. This specific material, Style 0N8090, is a reinforced cellulose fiber and a Latent Cured nitrile butadiene binder. The Armstrong Latent Cure System is designed for immediate conformity which allows users to seal rough flanges. As heat is introduced to the application, the ingredients are triggered which begins the vulcanization process of the material. This process provides the benefits of Fully Cured products. As a result, we are given a material with exceptional sealing characteristics. Supreme oil resistance. Temperatures below 350°F. Minimum tensile strength 2000 PSI.
STYLE 0N8092 SYNTHESEAL FULLY CURED NITRILE BINDER (ARMSTRONG N-8092)
Armstrong Syntheseal non-asbestos gasket materials have been formulated & designed to directly replace asbestos-containing materials. This specific material, Style 0N8092, is a reinforced cellulose fiber and a Fully Cured nitrile butadiene binder. This creates added value to the specialty of this material because the Armstrong Fully Cured system includes rubber binders that are vulcanized during formulation or in succeeding processes for amplified initial strength and fluid resistance. We recommend using Style 0N8092 for oils, fuels, and low pressure steam. Temperatures below 350°F. Minimum tensile strength: 1600 PSI.
STYLE 0S8091 SYNTHESEAL LATENT CURE STYRENE BUTADIENE BINDER (ARMSTRONG S-8091)
Armstrong Syntheseal non-asbestos gasket materials are formulated and designed to be a direct replacement for asbestos-containing materials. This material, Style 0S8091, is special because it is a reinforced cellulose fiber with a Controlled Swell Latent Cure Styrene. These Armstrong Controlled Swell materials are Latent Cure products. These products use Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) binders. The result is a significant increase in thickness at the exposed initial extremity of the gasket with many fluids, substantially enhancing sealability. As heat is introduced during application, the material is then vulcanized to limit further swelling and after fully cured performance. Use this material for oils, fuels, and low pressure steam. Temperatures below 350°F. Minimum tensile strength: 1800 PSI.
STYLE OTN9001 I THERMO-TORK LATENT CURE NITRILE BUTADIENE BINDER (ARMSTRONG TN-9001)

This material, Style 0TN9001, is aramid fiber with a Latent Cure Nitrile Butadiene binder. The Armstrong Latent Cure system is designed for immediate conformity which allows users to seal rough flanges. As heat is introduced during application, the ingredients are triggered which begins the vulcanization process of the material. This process provides the benefits of Fully Cured products. Style 0TN9001 is specifically designed for heavy-duty applications reaching temperatures up to 750°F. Supreme oil resistance. Minimum Tensile Strength 2000 PSI.
