Expanded PTFE Gaskets
An Expanded PTFE gasket has high creep resistance, and can be used in medical as well as food processing industries.
Expanded PTFE sheet cut into gaskets

EPTFE (Expanded PTFE) is a Universal sheet EPTFE gasket material for most services. It seals rough and irregular surfaces. Expanded PTFE is made from biaxial oriented expanded PTFE sheeting that is laminated to the required thickness. Seals of up to 3000+psi can be achieved depending on the flange type & design and type of media being sealed. It is chemically resistant over the 0-14 pH range. Specific gravity: 4 to 6. Suitable for temperatures to 600°F.
EPTFE Gaskets – The EPTFE variant of the gaskets have high creep resistance and can be used with medicine as well as food processing industries. They are non-corrosive, has best insulation available and is fully odorless for smooth operating.
Expanded PTFE is great to be used as a sealing material in bolted flange joints in pipelines, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems. Expanded PTFE is typically known to be an affordable alternative to sheet gaskets on flanges with large diameters where cutting the sheet is unrealistic. The flexibility of this unique material allows it to fit any flange shape, therefore it is unnecessary to stock a variety of gasket shapes and sizes.
It isn’t uncommon for a company to have 7-10 different gasket sheets in their inventory to use in a variety of applications. However, what these companies don’t know is that by utilizing Expanded PTFE, you can vastly reduce your inventory. Additionally, with too many gasket materials in your inventory, the probability that the wrong material is chosen increases greatly, which could lead to lost production, lost time, lost product, or physical injury. EPTFE can typically replace the following materials in their respected applications:
Application | Material |
---|---|
HVAC Systems (cryogenic) | Neoprene-based non-asbestos |
Oil Systems | Nitrile-based |
Steam Systems | EPDM Rubber-based non-asbestos |
Water – Waste Water | Red Rubber, Gum Rubber, Non-Asbestos |
Chemical Applications | Viton, FKM, FFKM, Kalrez |
Food and Beverage | FDA Approved Rubber or PTFE |
Potable Water (human consumption) | NSF Approved materials |
ADVANTAGES OF EPTFE SHEET GASKET MATERIAL

EXPANDED PTFE (EPTFE) JOINT SEALANT
This product is undoubtedly the best solution if you need to form an instant flange or door gasket. EPTFE joint sealant is used in a wide range of applications. It is soft and pliable yet tough and seals rough & irregular surfaces. It holds the same capabilities as EPTFE gasket material with a wide temperature range between -450°F and 600°F in flange applications. Expanded PTFE joint sealant has outstanding resistance to chemicals with its 0-14 pH range, ensuring that it will not deteriorate with age.
