Silicone gaskets are a highly versatile material, and its properties make it a great selection for a variety of applications.
For Ozone and Hot Applications, Silicone Gaskets Seal.
Silicone rubber gasket material is a highly versatile material, and its properties make it a great selection for a variety of applications. Silicone provides outstanding temperature, weather, and fire resistance. When used in applications where temperature is kept between 200°F and 400°F, silicone can be expected to have a long service life.
Silicone gasket material is typically non-reactive, stable, and resistant to harsh environments. Silicone compounds offer the best low temperature flexibility of all elastomers and are great in static applications. Silicone gasket materials have relatively low tear and tensile strength, therefore they should not be used for dynamic applications. Silicones excellent compression set resistance ensures your gasket will provide a proper seal for several years.
Silicone gasket material is typically manufactured by molding or die cutting sheet stock. Silicone provides the benefits of reducing molding pressures compared to organic rubber, in addition to low toxicity and low odor. Silicone gasket material excels in most gasketing applications and can seal lower bolt loads than its counterparts as a result to having a low durometer.
