Elastomeric material by admin | Jul 6, 2019 | Uncategorized | 1 comment 1 Comment dave on November 8, 2019 at 12:38 pm Selecting the right gasket material to seal your applications requires careful consideration of the application parameters. Starting with the temperature of the application can help you narrow your search. Secondly consider the PH or chemical compatibility with the media being sealed. Third, consider the pressure. If you want a gasket to seal long term it has t hold up to the pressure trying to blow it out (or suck it in the case of a vacuum application) . By this point you should have it narrowed down to a few options. Next consider if the sealing gasket sees any motion or is it a static seal. Then if the seal is going to be opened and closed or remain compressed. Does the gasket need to recover from thermodynamics? Last and least important to the seal is the price. There is nothing more expensive than a cheap seal. Of course we all must live within budgets, so select the least expensive “qualified” material.
